The City of La Quinta is mailing information to North La Quinta property owners and you should receive the information early next week. Please keep an eye out for it. The information packet was put together based on questions, feedback, and misconceptions they’ve heard. The packet will include a letter from the City Manager, an information sheet, a survey, and a self-addressed stamped envelope. This is not a ballot or a financial commitment. The survey is due Friday, February 21. Make sure your voice is heard by completing the survey :) Keep the Faith !!!

Oasis School beating all odds ...

When the headline says "beating all odds, with the help of some stalwarts of the community, the kids can now beat ON the odds" ... Oasis School wins again ... Nick and Tyler of Nicolino's Restaurant in Cathedral City donated a full drum set with seat and everything-and I mean everything but their kitchen sink. This was a great boon for the Oasis School music program (Well, as it exists - no formal funding). Our first effort was a baby Grand Piano earlier this year ... http://windermeresocal.com/blog/index.php/2013/05/thermal-music-sullivan-050113/ Our next efforts, enabled by Agents, family, friends, clients and community (i.e. Rocky's Pawn Shop and The Musicians' Outlet), resulted in saxophones, clarinet, coronet, flute, piccolo, keyboard, violins, and a gross of drumsticks for the drum line which they so desperately needed. We were also able to acquire matching tee shirts for the drumline with aspirations of one day acquiring uniforms ... everyone can dream :) We are sort of on our way to getting a school band together to accompany the drum line; however, we have a long way to go. Do you have any instruments gathering dust? Interested in helping the next Bruno Mars, Katy Perry or Carlos Santana ... Call me, email me or even text me for pickup ... and please, don't hesitate to deliver to my office if you like ... I can always be reached by text or phone 760-610-3245 office number is 760-564-9685 ... Keep the faith !!!

Typhoon Haiyan

Manny the Movie Guy and the gang at KMIR6 held a great fundraiser for the victims of Typhoon Haiyan on Wednesday ... unfortunately, I didn't know of it until Gloria and Thalia's great reporting of the event in yesterday morning's telecast. Inspired ... the Season of Giving started early. I was able to put together some donations: canned and dehydrated food, water, clothes, blankets, flashlights, batteries, can openers ... Has your "Season of Giving" started yet? Contact me with questions about how to help

Speeding in Desert Pride - continued ...

Over the past two weeks, the Police Department had dispatched their Rate of Speed trailer in various parts of the development to allow us all to understand what our normal pattern is and how that relates to the safety of our families, neighbors, guests and pets. Any thoughts you'd like to share?

La Quinta steps up for Desert Pride

Have you noticed any difference in the cleanliness of our streets in the last couple of weeks? I sure have ... I was out and about recently and ran across a city employee cleaning out the waterways around some intersections in the development. This, along with the normal water flow about the development, will help particulates and other debris move along and be accessible for the street sweepers ... not to mention that the possibilities of mosquito and other growth will be tremendously removed. Ask and ye shall receive ... I understand that at least this person has been assigned to the north side ... more info to follow upon discovery ... Keep the faith ...
